The reframe
June is slow, and most owners treat that as a fact of the calendar they cannot change. The softness has clear causes, and almost all of them are about timing rather than lost demand.
- Photosensitive treatments get deferred. Lasers, deeper peels, and anything with sun exposure risk move to the fall.
- Families travel and kids are home from school, so discretionary appointments slide.
- Surgical demand runs ahead of the season. Patients schedule procedures to be healed and ready for summer, which means the booking and recovery happen in spring, not during June and July.
Put those together and the calendar thins for reasons you can predict every year. The mistake is reading predictable softness as lost demand and waiting it out. The revenue you are missing in June is not gone. Most of it is already in your practice: patients who lapsed, leads nobody worked, and inquiries that came in and never got a real response. June is a follow-up problem, not a demand problem.
There are two layers to the fix. The first is what you can run this week with Claude or ChatGPT and no new software. The second is the platforms that automate the same work once a play proves out. Start with the first.
One rule holds across all of it. AI builds the system, and your practice software holds the patients. You do not put identifiable patient information into a general tool like Claude or ChatGPT, because those consumer products are not covered by a business associate agreement. Protected health information stays inside the systems built to hold it. Every play below is designed to respect that line.
How to use AI without a platform
The method is the same for all five plays. You define the parameters. AI handles the consistent execution. Your clinical judgment and your brand voice stay with you.
In practice, you describe the situation in the abstract and let AI build the playbook. You are not uploading a patient list. You are telling it what your menu looks like, what a lapsed segment is, what your offer is, and how your brand sounds. It returns the structure: the segments to pull inside your own system, the scripts, the cadence, and the offers. Then you run it in the tools you already have, your practice software, your messaging, or a simple mail merge.
The prompts below are paste-ready. Replace the bracketed inputs with your own. None of them ask for patient data, and you should not add any.
The five plays
1. Audit your menu for margin
This is a ranking of every service by what it earns per hour of provider or room time. A slow month is when the low-margin services that fill your schedule the rest of the year stop hiding behind volume. June is the right window to find them and fix the menu before fall. Give AI your service list, your prices, and the rough time each service takes, then let it rank and recommend. You make the final call on what changes.
PASTE-READY PROMPT
You are an analyst for my aesthetic practice. Here is my service menu with prices and the rough provider or room time each service takes: [service, price, minutes]. Rank every service by revenue per hour. Flag the bottom group that fills the schedule without earning. For the top group, give me specific ways to reprice, bundle, or promote it before July. Do not ask for or include any patient names or records. Return a table plus three actions I can take this week.
2. Win back patients you already have
This is a reactivation campaign for patients who have not returned in six to twelve months. The fastest revenue in a slow month comes from people who already trust you and have simply gone quiet. You do not hand AI your patient list. You describe the segment and let AI build the campaign: who to target by treatment type and time since last visit, the offer, the message in your voice, and the follow-up timing. You pull the matching segment inside your practice software, drop in the copy, and send.
PASTE-READY PROMPT
You are a patient retention strategist for my aesthetic practice. I want to win back patients who have not returned in six to twelve months. Do not ask for patient names or records. Based on these treatment categories [list categories], build a reactivation campaign: the segments I should pull inside my own system, a first message and two follow-ups in this voice [paste two or three sentences of your own writing], the offer framing, and the send timing across two weeks. Return it as a sequence I can hand to my front desk.
3. Cut the ad spend that is not converting
This is a review of your live ads to find the winner and rewrite the rest. Wasted spend hurts most when revenue is soft, so a slow month is the worst time to keep funding ads that do not convert. Give AI your current ad copy and the performance numbers, and ask it to tell you which angle is working, which is wasting budget, and to rewrite the weak ones. You decide what to pause and what to scale.
PASTE-READY PROMPT
You are a paid social strategist for my aesthetic practice. Here is my live ad copy and results: [paste copy, spend, clicks, leads, cost per lead]. Tell me which angle is converting and which is wasting budget. Rewrite the two weakest ads with stronger hooks for a summer audience. Keep the tone [describe your voice]. Return the rewrites plus a short note on what to pause and what to scale.
4. Plan a pop-up that fills a slow week
This is a small in-practice event built to fill specific slow days. One well-run event can carry a soft week and bring lapsed patients back through the door. Tell AI your space, your slow days, and your goal, and ask it to build the event end to end: theme, offer, timeline, and the promotional posts and emails to fill the seats.
PASTE-READY PROMPT
You are an events strategist for my aesthetic practice. I want to plan a pop-up to fill these slow days: [dates]. My space holds [number] and my goal is [bookings, retail, or memberships]. Build the event with a theme, an offer, a run-of-show timeline, and the promo posts and emails to fill it. Keep it on brand for [describe your practice]. Return a one-page plan and a one-week promotion schedule.
5. Post when your audience actually books
This is a posting schedule built around when your audience converts, not when you happen to post. Visibility is cheap. Timing is what turns a slow feed into booked chairs. Give AI your last month of post performance and ask it to find your best posting windows and build a two-week content plan aimed at bookings rather than likes.
PASTE-READY PROMPT
You are a social media strategist for my aesthetic practice. Here is my post performance from the last month: [paste post type, day, time, reach, saves, profile taps, booking clicks]. Identify my best posting windows and the formats that drive booking actions, not just likes. Build a two-week content plan with post types, captions framed around booking, and the times to post. Keep the tone [describe your voice].
When to automate it
Every play above runs by hand this week, and that is the point. You prove the play with the AI you already have before you spend on the platform that automates it. Staged adoption beats simultaneous adoption every time. Once a play earns its keep, here is where it goes to run without you.
- Recura is the reactivation and speed-to-lead engine. It responds to calls, texts, and web inquiries in seconds, books and reschedules, and runs automated win-back outreach to dormant patients, trained on your pricing, promotions, and policies. It maps directly to plays two and three.
- Podium, through its AI employee Avery, is the always-on front desk. It nurtures unbooked leads across channels, sends reminders and intake forms, requests reviews, delivers post-care instructions, and proactively works your existing lists, all tuned to your playbooks and tone. It covers the follow-up and visibility plays.
- Get Kudos AI is the retention layer that outlasts June. Built for aesthetics, it runs loyalty rewards, automated referrals, memberships, and review and NPS tracking, so the patients you win back in a slow month keep coming back.
The order matters. Recura and Avery stop the leaks. Get Kudos builds the recurring revenue that makes next June less slow.
The takeaway
A slow month is a systems test. It shows you what your practice does when the calendar stops doing the work for you. The owners who use June well are not discounting. They are running the plays they should have systematized months ago.
Pick one. Run it this week.
